The Costa Del Sol offers an incredible lifestyle. The activities available on the Costa del Sol are wide and varied, there is actually something for everyone. Many other areas report to offer the same but usually fall far short of the choice available on the Costa Del Sol. Nerja forms part of this lifestyle but due to its location on the eastern side of the Costa del Sol, it offers a quieter and more relaxed version than the western side, better known for the more flamboyant style of life associated with Marbella and Puerto Banus. Nerja is an ideal location to own or rent or property and take holidays enjoying the excellent and mild all year round climate.
Relaxing days out at one of the many beaches are a must, enjoying some of the most beautiful, clean and safe beaches on offer, with the Blue Flag of Merit being awarded on many occasions to the beaches on the Costa del Sol, including Nerja. Many of the Sports activities are a very popular pastime to local residents and Tourists alike, the most popular of these being Golf. The Costa del Sol has not been named the Costa del Golf without good reason, it is simply a golfers paradise. There are some 69 golf courses in Andalucia with some 45 situated along the Costa del Sol and four of which are ranked in the top 10 in Europe. Local golf courses can be found in Torre del Mar and La Herradura, whilst two new courses are planned for Torrox.

Nerja is on the coast some 50 kilometres east of Málaga on the N340 coastal highway, and marks the eastern tip of Málaga's Costa del Sol. Once a sleepy fishing village, the town now has a population of over 20,000, rising dramatically with tourism in the summer months. Nerja also falls into the area known as "Axarquia" which covers the entire eastern side of the province of Málaga.
The very pretty and charming village of Maro is also situated on the coast, 3 kilometres to the east of Nerja.
The Nerja Caves are located behind the village which has always begged the question by the locals as to why they weren't called the Caves of Maro?. Maro however is part of Nerja and has remained almost untouched by tourism and offers a refreshing contract to almost any other town of the coast.
"The best climate in Europe" boasts the tourist pamphlets in Torrox and by all accounts this is a pretty accurate description of the weather in these parts. Torrox Costa lies 6 kilometres west of Nerja whilst its parent, inland village of Torrox is just 3 kilometres to the north. Torrox village marks the origin of this town whilst the "Costa" has built up over the last 30 years and developed into a thriving tourist resort.
Enjoying a beautiful setting, this pretty village overlooks a horseshoe-shaped bay which is famous for its crystal clear waters, sheltered, if pebbly, beach and excellent watersports’ facilities, particularly scuba-diving. Located 12 kilometres east of Nerja and linked by the coastal motorway, La Herradura falls in the province of Granada and the Costa Tropical,
renowned for its sub-tropical climate.
Málaga is the capital of the Costa del Sol and offers everything that you would expect from a great city, with its international airport, the newly opened high speed train station that links Madrid in two and a half hours using the 300+ kph "Ave", the recently extended Málaga port that now receives the largest cruise liners in the world including the new Queen Victoria, its world famous "Picasso" museum, top quality shoping centers, cinemas, restaurants, nightlife, bullring, and much more.
